Oh, hi! I’m Órfhlaith. (It’s pronounced Orla).

I’m a Swiss Army knife in the food world. I trained at the Ballymaloe Cookery School and then worked as a chef in many guises: from sourdough baker, to short-order breakfast cook, to caterer and private chef. I also spent time as a stageur in Lima, Peru (see The Bear, season 2, to get a feel for what I mean by this), and once cooked for Rick Astley on our joint birthday.

Over time, I realised that the food I liked making the most was the healthy, everyday stuff. You know that Virginia Woolf quotation ‘one cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well’? Well, I couldn’t agree more. That led me to train as a nutrition and lifestyle coach, which in turn led me to my current career as a nutritionally-focused recipe developer.

These days, I work across recipe development, food photography and video, and digital marketing, creating content for brands, apps and restaurants. I’m organised and efficient in the kitchen, comfortable behind the camera and good at communicating with people. (I’m an Aquarian, after all). I write recipes that hold even the most nervous cooks’ hands through the process, and marketing emails that actually get read.

Let’s make something delicious.
